Lyrical Content

“Bread comin that’s trouble/

Ain’t no bread comin that’s double/”

The majority of the hook is a challenge to the saying mo’ money mo’ problems saying that has been prevalent in hip-hop music for years.  It still takes effort, or ‘Trouble” to build your empire and bring your money up if you weren’t born with it.  It’s always twice as bad, or “Double” when you don’t have the money that you want to have.  Problems that happen from not having money are usually worse than the ones you have from when you do have money.

“I’m mowing grass where the snakes in/

And all the bread we raked in/

We don’t call laws about break-ins/

Just cut the lights and lives take-in/”

In order to keep dishonest people out of your circle you have to try them and make it hard to hide snake-like tendencies.  Snakes can’t hide in low grass.  If someone says they’re your friend sometimes a trial could be necessary.  After you “cut the grass” and relieve yourself of snakes from your environment, you can share the money that the whole crew made together.  Anytime you make substantial monetary gains, you must be able to defend yourself from potential thieves.  Its foolish to believe someone else can do it for you.  Do it yourself.

“Great song! I love the beat and I can actually understand what he’s saying.  I can’t tell what most of the other guys are saying.”
